Lara Croft's 'Relic Run' Ready to Beat 'Temple Run' on iOS, Android and Windows Phone

"Temple Run" is a widely popular game on mobile platforms, but the real treasure hunter is Lara Croft, who is coming to compete with it in a new game titled "Relic Run".

Published by Square Enix, "Relic Run" featuring Lara Croft is the lead is developed by Crystal Dynamics. The developer team is the one that worked on the last Tomb Raider reboot on consoles and PCs. The game made a record-breaking sale of over 1 million copies so far and is considered as one of the most successful launches in the series.

Android Central confirmed that the upcoming endless runner title will arrive on iOS and Android at the same time while the Windows Phone version will be launched later. Currently, the title is already available for download in Netherlands.

Crystal Dynamics, the developers of "Relic Run" launched it for Android platforms in a specific region as they are planning to fix any bugs in the game and other issues before going for a global launch.

According to Touch Arcade, the game will follow the conventional path of the popular freemium feature similar to most other endless runner titles. People have to pay to buy the additional resources or coins to unlock more game play time, new weapons, costumes and levels. For many years, "Temple Run" was the best adventure runner on mobile platforms. The game drew inspiration from the character Indiana Jones created by Steven Spielberg and the Lara Croft series.

Developers also launched a game play trailer which reveals Lara going through exotic locations before she confronts a T-Rex.
