Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are busy training for the ultimate match up. Meanwhile, during an interview, UFC featherweight fighter Conor McGregor claims that he can "kill" Mayweather Jr. in just 30 seconds in the ring.
McGregor talked to Esquire and mentioned that his perspective towards looking at a man who has expertise in one area as a master is looking at him as a "rookie in ten other areas."
"If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs? If you put me face-to-face with Floyd Mayweather-pound-for-pound boxing's best-if I fought Floyd, I would kill him in less than 30 seconds. It would take me less than 30 seconds to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and strangle him," McGregor said.
Both McGregor and Mayweather Jr. belong two different schools of combat. If McGregor is an MMA fighter, Mayweather Jr. is a boxer.
Yahoo noted that Mayweather Jr. is a seasoned athlete with an undefeated record while McGregor will be fighting in UFC 189 for his first title. McGregor is set to face Jose Aldo in July 2015 for the title.
However, McGregor has been quite impressive in the ring and it will be interesting to see him battle it out with Aldo. Mayweather Jr. and McGregor will never see each other inside the ring for fight, but his statements for the undefeated boxer has certainly rolled many eyeballs.
During the interview with Esquire, McGregor also stated that throughout his life he has followed to achieve "limitlessness."
Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will fight on May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.
