The developers at iRobot are in the process of creating a lawn mower robot which would be joining their force of gutter robots, flooring robots and swimming pool cleaning robots. Astronomers are not happy as they fear that these Roomba robots would interfere with their radio frequency.

iRobot makes robotic machines which are designed to perform fundamental family duties like lawn mowing. Many families are buying such robots to lend them a hand in their household chores, but it might be causing some problem, according to Observer Chronicle .

These robot lawn mowers will be called Lawn Bott and it will be like a tractor, the difference being that of the size and the technology, according to Huffington Post.

The people who would be buying these lawn mowing robots will have to install a chain of electronic wiring which will need a hiding place in the grass. This would be required so that the robot will go around doing its job. It will just take a little extra time while installing. After installation, it will only make the lawn mowing activities much much simpler.

The only group of people who do not seem happy with this technology are the astronomers who fear that this robotic marvel will be interfering with the radio frequency and regularity. They said that this would in turn hamper their observations as the telescopes which are used to monitor the celestial bodies would experience disruptions.

The developing team at the iRobots has read this request which has been made at the FCC forum. In the report, the astronomers are urging them to look for a work around in a way that the robotic frequencies will not disrupt anything.
