Sony stated that the new Xperia Z4 is coming to Japan in summer but a global release date is not announced until now.

The smartphone was originally scheduled to be shown during the Mobile World Congress exhibition but due to delays, it has now received a subtle announcement.

Compared to the previously launched Z3, the new Sony Xperia Z4 is exceptionally slimmer as it sports a thickness of 6.9mm. The weight of the device has also been considerably reduced as it now weighs 144g while the previous model was heavier at 152g.

On the hardware side, the Xperia Z4 has a display which is measured to be at 5.2-inches and has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display has an impressive 424 pixels per inch which is easily one of the top end ppi found in very few devices.

According to Pocket Lint, it is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa processor and developers confirmed that the phone will be able to handle intensive tasks with relative ease. The device has 3 GB of RAM to enable users to enjoy a lag free experience even when multiple apps are open at the same time.

The phone has 32 GB internal storage which can expanded up to 128 GB using a micro SD card. It is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. A powerful 20 megapixel camera is found in the rear while the front is dominated by a 5.1 megapixel camera with wide angle lens for great selfie pictures. It is dust proof and water proof which makes the device more durable than others in the same class, confirmed CNet.

The Sony Xperia Z4 will be launched in Japan in a couple of weeks and it has been confirmed that the phone will be available in copper, aqua green, black, and white colored variants.
