Latest reports claimed that Sony Xperia Z4 release date will take place in summer.
According to Ecumenical News, Sony Xperia Z4 was reportedly obtained an approval from Federal Communications Commission in the United States. The handset has codename PM-0780.
FCC is a requirement for all consumer electronics before they can hit the US market. There are rumors that a device from Sony with similar dimensions with Sony Xperia Z3 passed the certification process. The certification also lists six different variants of the device supporting different LTE bands. This hinted that the variants are for the different carriers in the country. The handsets have the same hardware specs with non-removable battery and a microSD card slot.
The upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 has been approved by the Japanese Internal Affairs and Communication Ministry and is reportedly coming through Japanese networks NTT, DoCoMo, KDDI and SoftBank. If the FCC certification proved to be true, Sony Xperia Z4 will be released sooner than later.
Another hint that the smartphone will be released soon is the fact that Sony Xperia Z3 is no longer available in T-Mobile, according to GSM Arena. Buyers can purchase the customized version of the handset from Verizon Wireless, which the only carrier offering the said device.
According to the leaked documents, Sony Xperia Z4 will pack 5 inch or bigger screen display with 2K pixel resolution, octa core Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 420 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 24 MP rear camera and 12 MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is also rumored to include unique Sony features such as PlayStation Remote Play and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
