David Singleton, director of engineering for Android, announces a new Samsung Android Wear smartwatch

Google has added a lot of feature updates to their Android Wear series of smart watches, and during this process they have uncovered a key flaw that exists in the Apple Watch and every other smart watch available in the market.

The Android Wear watches will be having phone free functionality feature, according to Slash Gear. They also have new added features which are wrist gesture that allows you to scroll by flicking the wrist.

An always onscreen feature keeps the display on when you have got certain applications running. Emoji features which allow you draw pictures on you watch to send emoticons in messages, as reported by The Verve.

Also, The Android Wear watches now support Wi-Fi which helps the watch to make searches, give notifications and make calls when the Bluetooth of the phone is not in range. The phone and the watch will still stay connected even if the Wi-Fi network is different because the connection would be through Google Cloud Services. The Wi-Fi connections would be established automatically by Google.

Though Android Wear devices would be having these unique features but they still need to be paired with the phone for updates. The device also has an update which impacts the screen display, one is low power mode and the other is a black and white display mode to save on data usage.

With these new updates to the Android Wear devices, the Apple Watch drawbacks have gotten highlighted. Though the battery impacts on the devices need to be checked with the addition of the new updates, but the Apple Watch surely needs to counter these new features with updates of its own.
