Android Wear is an ambitious project by Google which is the equivalent of Apple Watch. Based on latest reports, it is known that the company is working on an update to make it work with all iOS devices.
The Apple Watch has finally started landing in the hands of consumers and have opened to mixed reviews. Other manufacturers including Samsung, Google and Motorola are in the competition as well. All of them are powered by Android Wear, the operating system designed exclusively for watches and by making them compatible with iOS platform, the company plans to bring in more customers.
According to a report from The Verge, third party developers have already found hacks to make devices like the Moto 360 watch work with an iPhone. One of the developer who was part of the community said that Google has been finding ways to make the Android Wear compatible with iOS devices so as to extend their user base.
Product manager of Android Wear Jeff Chang said that the ultimate goal of their team is to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the experience they have to offer. He added that they are really interest to expand the horizons so that they are not limited to the Android community.
Apple is a company that is known for strict guidelines and restrictions. They already have an Apple Watch and it is highly unlikely that they would want Google's own Android Wear to be compatible with their products, PC World reported.
If the idea comes into practical use, an app will be launched for iOS devices which will enable users to receive push notifications, Google Now cards and other data to their Android Wear watch.
