Fan Bingbing and Jerry Lee's Mall Appearance Called Off After Massive Stampede Accident

Chinese celebrities Fan Bingbing and Jerry Lee were rumored to be getting married in June.

Rumored Chinese celebrity couple Fan Bingbing and Jerry Lee's appearance in a newly established mall in Qingdao, a major city in eastern Shandong Province, was cancelled after a stampede accident that took place on Thursday, Want Daily reported.

Almost 100,000 people were involved in the mishap, wherein several fans were recorded to be harmed despite the attempt of the mall's management to control the situation.

According to the reports, the event coordinators miscalculated the number of fans who are expected to arrive in the opening.

Before the accident, the actress excitedly posted a video clip in her Weibo account that she was about to leave the hotel and is excited to meet her fans.

Fan, who was born in the sub-provincial level city but raised in Yantai, just stayed in the hotel after being informed of the accident and apologized to the fans who came to see her. She said she would come back to Qingdao soon.

In a seperate media discussion, the two celebrities expressed their apology regarding the mall opening's cancellation as well as the stampede accident.

Fan Bingbing is an award-winning actress, television producer and pop singer. She became famous when she played as Jinsuo in the Chinese television series "My Fair Princess." In 2014, Fan was among the characters in the Hollywood blockbuster film "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Lee, on the other hand, is one of China's famous celebrities. He was one of the casts of Chinese disaster-drama film "Aftershock" directed by Feng Xiaogang.
