The much speculated "Furious 8" is now confirmed with a release date of April 14, 2017. Vin Diesel, playing Dom Toretto in the franchise, announced the same at CinemaCon in Las Vegas recently.

With the announcement, many questions have arised how the sequel of "Furious 7" will be carried onward, keeping in mind the sudden demise of the movie's lead actor Paul Walker. "Furious 7" suffered an initial setback, but was somehow completed with the help of late actor's bothers and other technological skills before marking the end of the legacy of Walker's character.

At the climax, the movie shows that Walker's character Brian O'Connor decides to leave the dangerous business and retire with his child and pregnant wife Mia Toretto, played by Jordana Brewster. It surely appears that Brewster's role will also cease to exist in the upcoming movies. However, the actress has not ruled out the comeback in an interview with HuffPost Live saying that "it's always dependent on the fans."

"Furious 8" will now face a major challenge of filling the void created by the absence of Connor. There are many names floating around which are expected to replace Walker's character. Kurt Russell, who played a cameo role of Mr Nobody in the past movies of the franchise, is leading this race to grab a major role in the upcoming movie, which will be loosely based on taking on corrupt government officials.

Other reports suggest that a dead crew member, Gal Gadot or Sung Kang, might resurface and join the gang. Since both the characters had died abruptly in the past "Fast and Furious" movies, the script need to be worked upon how these characters will be incorporated again in the movie.

Day Herald reported that although Cody Walker, brother of the late actor who pitched in to complete the movie, reportedly can also join the group to appear as a brother or a cousin of Connor, casting the newbie for the whole action filled movie will take a lot of practice and time.

Meanwhile, recently released "Furious 7" turned out to be the most suucessful movie of the series to date and passed the $1bn mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time.
