The local government of Shenzhen has announced on May 4, Monday, the launching of the first online bank exclusively serving women, following the establishment of mulans.com, a pioneer in female O2O (online to offline) financial platform in Sept. 2014.
On May 4, the mulans.com financial platform organized a conference focused on young pioneers, gathering around 300 young entrepreneurs and company founders in the region.
According to an article published by womenofchina.cn, the most significant agenda in the conference was the founding of the first female online bank, named Mulan Bank, which has the full support of the Shenzhen-based Mulan Investment Company.
According to the investment company, the Mulan Bank, the first online bank of its kind in China, would provide its services only for women, especially female entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, the Mulan Bank has promised customers that its ultimate goal is to increase women's financial power with online services and consumption as their core pillars.
The report said that the new online bank will be a welcome development for female entrepreneurs for their financing and banking needs.
The report added that the Mulan Investment Company was originally established to become the pioneer institution for women's start-ups, financial management and investments, as well as to become a major hub for female entrepreneurs and business founders and owners.
"We have embraced three brands based on the investment bank: Mulans, Mulan Pioneering and Investment, and then the Mulan Bank. That helps the investment bank to have far-reaching influence in China," according to Liu Aimin, the co-founder of the investment bank.
