Zynga, the developer behind "Words with Friends" and "Farmville," announces that it will be launches its new "Empires & Allies" game on May 5, Tuesday.

A different "Empires & Allies" game was taken offline on June 17, 2013. Despite sharing the same name as the old one, Zynga claims that the new "Empires & Allies" game is a new one and not a remake. The new game puts players into a new future setting where they will have access to advance war technologies.

The military strategy game will be released on both Android and iOS platform, according to PCMag. On an official statement, Zynga said that the game will challenge players to "design their perfect army and deploy the weapons of modern war in a never-ending battle to save the world."

The developer team was led by Mark Skaggs, who is well known for spearheading the "Command and Conquer" series, according to The Verge. The same team is behind the development of other Zynga games like "FarmVille" and "CityVille."

"Empires & Allies" will be released worldwide after a successful beta-testing phase. The game will be released in 13 different languages.

The new game will also incorporate co-op mode wherein players can form alliances in other players in order to create a more powerful army. Players will have access to a wide-array of military units like troops, helicopters, tanks and warplanes.

Although the game is free to be played, premium items can be bought using real-world currency in order to boost a player's offensive and defensive power.

The game can be downloaded for free in Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store. It supports iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as Android devices.
