EA Sports confirmed that the "Madden NFL 16" title will be released on Aug. 25. The announcement which was made in ESPN Sportscenter also revealed New York Giants Odell Beckham Jr. as the game's cover athlete.

The game will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms. The new generation console version of the game will use the new Ignite game engine while the older generation version will use the standard Impact engine.

According to Design and Trend, EA will be offering perks and bonuses for gamers who will pre-order the game. Those who choose to pre-order the game will receive a $15 Ultimate Team content which includes 10 Pro Packs and a Play maker Pack which can be used in Madden Ultimate Team. The Playmaker Pack will give gamers access to an Elite player which can be used in their own Ultimate Team.

Gamers who want additional content can purchase the Deluxe Edition. EA said in a press release, "Those looking for even more content can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, which ups the ante with 36 Pro Packs and a Playmaker Pack, all for $69.99."

On the other hand, EA has nothing but high praise for the lastest "Madden NFL 16" cover athlete. Beckham Jr. was voted by NFL fans to grace the cover of "Madden NFL 16" besting superstars Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, Pittsburg Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Beckham Jr. was grateful for the honor but many experts were quick to remind him of the so-called Madden Curse. According to Digital Trends, career difficulty and terrible injury will affect every athlete who will appear on the cover of "Madden NFL" video game.
