Nine years after being bossed around by Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada," Anne Hathway is finally set to be the boss in her next movie, "The Intern." And she will get a new intern in Robert Di Niro.
The first trailer of the next Nancy Meyers' movie is out and it seems a sure shot hit. Coming from the makers of romantic comedies like "The Holiday," and "It's Compliacted," the new flick will show a refreshingly new angle of an unlikely friendship between Hathway, who is paying high flier CEO Jules Ostin, and her intern, 70-year-old Ben Whittaker, played by the veteran actor.
Whittaker re-enters the corporate world and joins an online fashion site, founded and run by Ostin. As expected, the movie is filled with old man in a young world humour, TIME reported. Armed with his tucked in shirts amid Tees and jeans and his lack of knowledge about Facebook, the "Raging Bull" actor has portrayed a strong and adorable character.
The trailer shows Whittaker making friend with much younger co-workers and staying late in office to understand the latest work methodology. Eventually, the senior intern and the high powered CEO end up becoming each other's support system.
"Excellent," the 32-year-old star told People on being quizzed how she felt about working with two-time Oscar winner. "I've been a fan of his for such a long time and was so excited to work with him."
The movie's multi-generational cast also features Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells and Adam Devine.
The movie, set to release on Sept. 25, was previously planned with Tina Fey and Michael Caine in the lead roles under Paramount Pictures. Due to some internal conflict, Meyers took the movie to Warner Bros and had reportedly contacted Reese Witherspoon earlier for the lead role.
