Google Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 have not received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update yet and its release is reportedly delayed.

Other Nexus devices, 2012 and 2013 WiFi Nexus 7 tablets, the Nexus 9 tablet, the Nexus 10 tablet and the Nexus Player, are already enjoying the perks and new features brought by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update. The update is available to the aforementioned Nexus devices via Over-The-Air or via PC.

However, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 or the cellular variants of the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 tablets owners may have to wait longer for the new operating system. Google has not announced as to when these devices will receive the OS update, although various custom ROMs surfaced online, according to Android Origin.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update brings bug fixes to issues found in the previous version of the Android OS. Moreover, the new firmware heralds new features such as Guest Mode, which allows multiple users to access the device, but will protect the personal data of the owner. Guest mode users may also save their own apps and messages. The handset will also be equipped with Kids Mode feature that will provide safety to the device, especially to young users, according to Christian Today.

Meanwhile, just like other Android updates, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS was reported to have some bugs and issues. Some of the reported issues include problems with installation, WiFi, Bluetooth, performance, applications and some features, and fast draining battery issues. Some users suggested that clearing the cache and doing a factory reset can resolve most of these issues.
