Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC released J Butterfly HTV31, which is the next handset in the Butterfly series in Japan. The smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 MSM 8994 processor on a 64-bit octa core in the handset.

Experts said that the device shares some commonalities in terms of design with the HTC's flagship smartphone HTC One M9 such as the fact that both the handsets use a 2,700 mAh battery and support 3GB RAM.

HTC J Butterfly specs include a plastic cover which speaks volumes about its efficient water and dust resistance capabilities.

Besides, the HTC J Butterfly features a 5.2 QHD Super LCD3 display. Moreover, HTC offers expandable memory capacity up to 200 GB in this pioneering handset, according to Ecumenical News.

The HTC J Butterfly specs also provide for a 13 MP front camera coupled with a 20MP Duo Back Camera. The HTV31 guarantees video recording of 2160 pixel quality according to GSM Arena. The camera will also capture distance information and also provide options for post-shoot selective focus. This implies that one can edit and process their pictures to achieve the ideal shot, after shooting the image.

Apart from this, the device provides excellent network connectivity with Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity options in tandem with LTE connectivity for Japanese 4G LTE bands.

The glossy finished 162-grams handset will be launched in Red, White and Indigo Blue colors. However, the company did not reveal the actual HTC J Butterfly price range.
