Xiaomi is allegedly planning to launch a new H3Y smartphone, which will possess the Helio X10 chip and also be the very first third party to use Samsung's Isocell Image Sensor.
Chinese electronics analyst Pan Juitang revealed the details of the project on his Weibo account. Besides, he also informed that the project will be running in the third quarter of the year 2015. The handset will be placed in the same price range of 1299 to 1499 Yuan as its predecessor Mi 4i, according to Gizmo China.
Though the answer to the most plaguing question about the looks of the device still remains unclear, it is rumored that it will use the hexa-cored Snapdragon 808 processor. The absence of overheating and thermal throttling issues in this processor makes it a better choice for use in smart phones as opposed to Snapdragon 810.
The 808 processor will be able to provide optimal performance continuously and will not be forced to compromise on the clock speed. Besides, experts also anticipate a stiff competition between the new Mi handset and LG 4 which incidentally fits into the same price range, according to Christian Today.
It is further anticipated that upon successful confirmation of these rumors, the company will be able to use this new model to bridge the performance gaps between its Note and Note Pro models which were powered using the 801 and 810 Snapdragon processors.
In other news, it is also alleged Xiaomi is working on a Mi 5i variant, which will use the Snapdragon 820 processor.
