Barbra Streisand To Publish Her Memoirs In 2017

Barbra Streisand will tell the story of her six decade long career in a new memoir that is currently being written by the singer, songwriter, actress and director.

Reports claimed Streisand is set to reveal details about her private life which she has fiercely protected in what industry publishers have termed as a tell-all book that is scheduled to be released in 2017, according to the Inquisitr.

The autobiography of "The Way We Were" actress is being termed as one of the most anticipated memoirs of 2017.

President and Viking Books publisher, Brian Tart issued a statement quoted by The Hollywood Reporter which announced that the company had obtained the rights to publish Streisand's autobiography.

Tart said in the statement her memoirs have been on the wish list of publishers for many years and added that she remained among one of the few women in the industry to lead such an accomplished career.

Throughout Streisand's career more than 50 unofficial biographies have been published, Tart said with inaccuracies, and he was honored to have his publishing company tell her story.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1942, the veteran performer achieved her first break when she opened as part of a comedy act for the Phyllis Diller night club.

In 1963, her debut album became one of ten bestselling Billboard albums of the year. Streisand who has performed in "Funny Girl" on Broadway, won an Oscar for her movie role in the on-screen adaptation of the show.

She is the only female entertainer to have earned Tony, Emmy, Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe awards as well as Kennedy Centre Honours in her lifetime.

Married twice Streisand has a son, Jason Gould from her first marriage.
