"How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2 is one of the most anticipated shows on ABC in the next television season. In its freshman year, viewers wanted to know who killed Lila Stangard. After seeing the season finale, the audience is now asking: Who killed Rebecca Sutter?
Spoiler alert: This update contains spoilers on the first season of "How To Get Away With Murder." Read on at your own risk if you have not watched all episodes.
For many viewers who saw the Season 1 finale of "How To Get Away With Murder," Sam and Frank killed Lila. For others, the only thing the audience saw was that Sam called someone. Is it possible that someone else called Frank to carry out the killing.
For actor Charlie Weber, however, Sam was really collecting a favor from Frank. He just does not know yet what this favor is all about. Perhaps it will unfold in "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2. It also means that actor Tom Verica could still be a part of the second season's flashbacks.
"Sam and Frank were never together [in HTGAWM Season 1 scenes]. It's fascinating to know there's a complete story behind that," Weber told E! Online, adding that HTGAWM show creator Peter Nowalk is "a genius."
While there was still no absolute clarity on the events between Sam and Frank that led to Lila's killing, another character died! Just moments before the HTGAWM Season 1 finale ended, the viewers learned that Rebecca Sutter is dead. The cameras showed only Frank and Annalise in the scene. Who killed Rebecca?
Rebecca texted a certain Eggs911 shortly before she was killed. Could this person be related to her death? For Weber, it could be Frank or anyone.
"It's completely possible that Frank did it. But if you watch that last hour again, absolutely everyone had an opportunity to do it. So it's completely up in the air," he said in the same interview.
Alfred Enoch's Wes Gibbins was Rebecca's boyfriend. She knew things about him, just as much as she knew things about everyone. But among all of them, Wes is the only one who was beating himself up for what has happened. The title of the finale, "It's All My Fault," was from his character's point of view. Did Wes kill Rebecca?
Overall, it was a brilliant first season for Nowalk and team. "How To Get Away With Murder" brings all the right darkness and edge to Shondaland 's portfolio. The only problem for many viewers now is powering through the long wait until Season 2 premieres later in the year.
