The Pirate Blockade In Australia And Austria: TPB To Be Blocked By Foxtel For Australians And A1 Telekom For Austrians

A website that gives advice to users on how to use TOR, VPNs and The Pirate Bay's Pirate Browser has been asked to block by a court in Russia.

Russia is known for blocking websites that it believes are linked to drugs, propaganda, copyright infringement and more. TorrentFreak noted that a project called RosComSvoboda looks into freedom and human rights. It publishes information on blockades and assists users and website operators who are facing restriction wrongfully.

However, now the project's portal website named RUBlacklist was ordered by the court to be blocked by Russia's ISPs. RUBlacklist is a website that shares information and tips on VPNs, Pirate Browser of The Pirate Bay, TOR and proxies.

However, according to Russian agencies these kinds of tips can be an issue. After an investigation by the prosecutor office of Anapa district, the project's portal is against the blocks determined by the government.

"Due to anonymizer sites, in particular http://rublacklist.net/bypass, users can have full access to all the banned sites anonymously and via spoofing. That is, with the help of this site, citizens can get unlimited anonymous access to banned content, including extremist material," the Anapa court's ruling reads.

The court declared that the ISPs must block the services of the portal and make it inaccessible to their customers.

Artyom Kozlyuk, the group's chief described the court decision absurd and stated that the law enforcements are incompetent in determining the basic knowledge of the internet.

"Anonymizers, proxies and browsers are multitask instruments, helping to search for information on the Internet," Kozlyuk said. The legal team of the group said that want to appeal the ruling of the court.
