Beijing's candidacy for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games is in full display at the world exposition in Milan, Italy, as part of its ongoing Beijing Week celebration.

An exhibition featuring Beijing's bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics Games in the landscape garden outside the China Pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015 showcased photos of winter venues and accomplishments by Chinese athletes.

"Image ambassadors" are also expected to introduce the theme song for Beijing's campaign to host the Winter Olympics at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Week set on Wednesday, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday.

The candidacy for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games is part of the Beijing Week's activities as an opportunity for more people to get to know the progress of the campaign, Jiuling, head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), told Xinhua.

During five days of artistic performances, picture shows and video play, a delegation from the Chinese capital will be presenting to expo visitors Beijing's agriculture, tourism, fashion, and other industries, the report said.

"The entire population of Beijing has participated with great enthusiasm to the collective effort for the candidacy to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, and is fully prepared for the event," Xiong added.

On Monday, the evaluating group of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will release a comprehensive assessment report following their inspections of proposed sites in Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, earlier this year. Afterward, the IOC will announce the host city on July 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"I believe Beijing's candidacy is very strong, considering the expertise developed by China in hosting high-level international events," said Stefano Gatti, General Manager Participants and Director General of the Italian Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015.

According to Gatti, Beijing has the right climate and mountainous environment to host the Winter Olympics, as well as "all means to provide the infrastructural and transport systems that are the real challenge of such a big event."

Gatti also noted the role of world expositions as "showcases" and international events and campaigns.

"Beijing is rightly promoting its bid for 2022 Winter Olympic Games at the Milan Expo," he told Xinhua, adding that Italian visitors in particular can learn more about China's international vocation in this way.
