Motorola, AT&T Offer $100 Moto X 2014 Discount After It Fails To Deliver Android 4.4 Kitkat OS Update To Atrix HD

Motorola and AT&T offers Moto X 2014 discount of $100 after the company and the carrier failed to deliver the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS update to the Atrix HD smartphone as promised.

Motorola and AT&T released the Atrix HD in 2012 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. In just a matter of months, the smartphone received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean along with the promise that it will support the Android 4.4 Kitkat in the future. Three years after it was launched, Motorola and AT&T finally announced that the smartphone will not be receiving the promised upgrade due to some undisclosed reason.

In order to make amends with thousands of still expecting users, the Moto X 2014 will be offered to these select customers with a hefty discount for those who wanted to upgrade their handset. In order to avail the discount, Atrix HD users need to fill out a registration form on Motorola's website. Once registered, users will be eligible for a $100 the discount.

Moto X 2014 is considered as the successor to the original Moto X flagship phone from Motorola. It has a 5.2-inch screen and has a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.

Motorola also emphasized that the discount will be available for users who still has an active Atrix HD smartphone. Registration for the promo will end in June 30 and eligible users who registered can only use the discount coupon until July 15, according to Phandroid.

Motorola will be giving the same $100 discount for the Motorola Whisper Bluetooth headset, bringing the price down to $49.99, according to Tech Times.
