Lena Headey plays Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series "Game Of Thrones."

"Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode titled "Mother's Mercy" seem to have no mercy at all as it features unfavorable events to many of its characters including Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Arya (Maisie Williams), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane).

The game was shook up in other ways in the hit HBO series' fifth season finale with Cersei taking an infamous walk of shame, Arya losing her sight, and Daenerys becoming the prisoner of a Dothraki horde. The deaths of Jon Snow and Stannis are the most notable ones among the multiple deaths in the "Mother's Mercy" episode.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode director David Nutter weighed in on the deaths. He also directed the penultimate episode of the fifth season, which featured Shireen's (Kerry Ingram) exit.

For Nutter, the storyline he was most worried about tackling in the "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode was Cersei's walk of shame. He said, "I was on pins and needles about wanting to get it right because Lena Headey and I are friends and I think she's such a great talent."

"I wanted it to turn out wonderful," Nutter said of the scene featuring Cersei's walk of shame, "Wonderful probably isn't the best word, but I wanted it to turn out right.

The walk of shame scene was disturbing and the viewers are likely to feel for Cersei. For Nutter, the key to that scene was "to get a sense of being with her as much as possible and you go through this walk with her."

Nutter also praised the extras in Dubrovnik as their incredible responses and reactions to Cersei helped to make the walk of shame scene effective. The director said the extras reacted to Cersei as the queen going into Flea Bottom, which was the worst part of town.

With Cersei's walk of shame in "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode titled "Mother's Mercy," Headey is expected to be nominated for an Emmy, Gold Derby pointed out.
