Google Nexus 2015 Release Date Update: Leaked Moto X 2015 Could Become Bigger Nexus Flagship

Moto X (2014) Pure Edition

For 2015, the Moto X will reportedly unbox in two models and one of which is a phablet-size monster with a 5.7-inch display profile. Easily, the device is a solid candidate to become the larger Nexus 2015 on release date.

While earlier reports have suggested that Google is working with LG and Huawei in producing two flagship handsets this year, nothing is really written in stone on supposed collaboration. To date, the Nexus maker has yet to issue any word on the matter.

And the truth is the Nexus 2015 remains a mystery that only Google can clarify. On the account that it built the Nexus 6 last year, Motorola is considered a possible contender and given the chance, the device maker will likely pattern the vanilla Android phone after its own flagship - the Moto X.

The X specs

If indeed Motorola is being seriously considered, the likelihood is it will take on the jumbo Nexus 2015 phone that in earlier reports was said to be a Huawei creation that is internally referred to as Angler. Nothing much is known about the device except that it is bigger than the 5.2-inch LG Nexus Bullhead at 5.7-inch and most likely will flash a near-native Android version once it is out of the box.

The mentioned screen profile syncs with a Moto X 2015 variant that according to 9to5Google is coming out this year. The device front panel is diagonally measured at 5.64-inch, also serving as viewfinder for a rear shooter that is described for now as "amazing camera hardware."

The power beneath of this Moto X is generated by a Snapdragon chip that will be paired with up to 4GB of RAM. The basic storage configuration is 32GB but it is likely that higher options will be made available come launch time.

The specs discussed so far have the Nexus signature written on them with the added benefit of affordability and personalization, which are two features that allowed Motorial to immediate traction on the cutthroat global smartphone competition. A leaker named TK Tech News was the source of the information, 9to5Google said.

The same blog report, however, noted that TK had a shaky reputation as a gadget news leaker in the past. But in the Moto X 2015 case, TK seems too stand on a rock-solid ground this one time.

In the same Moto X leak, the touchdown is pegged at around August this year. The timing appears to play well with that of the Nexus 2015 release date as the Google flagship normally rolls out a few months after its base-model's unboxing, which is around October or November 2015.
