Besthesda Softworks has officially announced the sequel to its stealth action adventure video game "Dishonored." During its E3 press conference on Sunday, Bethesda announced that "Dishonored 2" will be released in the spring of 2016.

Based on Bethesda's official press release about "Dishonored 2," the game is set 15 years after the end of the last "Dishonored" game. It follows the story after the Lord Regent was defeated and the Rat Plague has ceased to exist. "Dishonored 2" picks up after an unknown being seized the throne from Empress Emily Kaldwin.

Bethesda added that "Dishonored 2" will feature two playable characters named Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano. Gamers will have the chance to play both of the characters and main story line of the game revolves around the plan to restore Empress Emily back to the throne.

The first "Dishonored" game was released in 2012 and was developed by Arkane Studios. According to The Verge, Arkane Studios will once again work with Bethesda Softworks for the "Dishonored 2" title.

Bethesda has posted the first "Dishonored 2" trailer on its official YouTube account. The video quickly spread within gaming communities and has already amassed more than 450,000 views.

Late last week while preparing for their Sunday E3 press release, Bethesda Softworks along with Arkane Studios accidentally announced the existence of "Dishonored 2" when its official Twitch stream went unintentionally online.

Based on the captured audio conversation by those who managed to tune in, Raph Colantio from Arkane Studios was speaking with some member of Bethesda. Although "Dishonored 2" was not mentions, many were quick to speculate that Colantio's presence is evidence enough that the two studios are working on a new video game.

Following the slip-up on Twitch, Bethesda quickly posted on its Twitter account encouraging fans to tune in to their official E3 presentation, according to Tech Times.
