Google Nexus 10 2 release date rumors surfaced again claiming that the tech giant will offer the successor of its 10-inch slab as the latest contender in the tablet category.

The last time we heard about Google Nexus 10 2 was last year after the device kept on skipping all of its possible release dates. Previous reports stated that Google will not release a tablet this year as it is rumored to launch two smartphones.

However, Google Nexus 10 2 release may be back in the cards after various Nexus tablets received deals and discounts. Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 9 recently received discounts. Nexus 7 2012 was available in $50 with $5 shipping fee, according to Android Pit.

Google Store in Canada once offered Nexus 9 at the same price for $429 and $529 for the 16GB and 32GB variants with $60 Google Play credit, Android Headlines reported.

Meanwhile, Google Nexus 10 2 is rumored to pack a 10.1-inch size with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, NVIDIA Tegra 4, 3GB RAM and Adreno 420 GPU.

For storage, there will be the standard 16 and 32 GB variants. As for the camera, the tablet will pack an 8MP at the back and the front camera could be 2.1MP. The tablet will also pack a dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-side NFC and a 9,500 mAh non-removable battery.

Google still has not confirmed whether it will work again with Samsung in making the next Nexus 10 tablet. However, the search engine giant may tap on other manufacturers like HTC and Asus after the first generation of Nexus 10 failed to attract a lot of buyers due to its mediocre specs and features. However, the device may see a big jump on specs and features this year.
