Google Nexus 5 release may happen sooner than expected as the current Nexus 6 received a major discount and OS update.
An unlocked 32GB Nexus 6 is available in eBay for $439.99 from its original price of $650. The listing did not specify how many units are still left and how long the deal will run.
This is not the first time that the Nexus 6 smartphone received a price cut. Recently, the handset received a $150 discount from Motorola, which brings the prices down to $499.99 and $549.99 for the 32GB and 64GB, respectively. The discount applies to both Cloud White and Midnight Blue variants. The promo will run until June 23. Shipping will be in a week.
Moreover, more variants of Nexus 6 smartphones also received the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update. AT&T is rolling out the latest version of the Android operating system after Sprint and US Cellular, according to Android Authority.
Meanwhile, Google Nexus 5 2015 release date is rumored to happen between October and November following the launch pattern of previous Nexus smartphones. Google has not announced the official release date of the handset.
The rumored Nexus 5 2015 handset will be a revamped or redesigned version of the popular LG Nexus 5. The smartphone will reportedly pack a 5-inch quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) screen display, Snapdragon 808 SoC, Type-C USB port, wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth, LTE and Wi-Fi, fingerprint sensor and longer battery life.
Google Nexus 5 2015 will run with the recently announced Android M operating system and will enjoy the new Android features like Google Wallet and Android Pay mobile payment system.
Geek Snack claimed that the Nexus 5 2015 price will be kept below $500 despite the aforementioned high end features.
