Selena Gomez Drops New Single 'Good For You'

"Come And Get It" singer Selena Gomez has taken over good friend Taylor Swift to grab the top spot at iTunes.

After creating much hype on social media, the former Disney star dropped her new single "Good For You" on June 22 on iTunes. The song immediately became viral and rose the music chart to grab the top slot, pushing Swift's "Bad Blood" down a few spots.

The song was released in the morning and within a few hours; it made its way into iTunes' top five songs. By the afternoon, the single surpassed Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" and Omi's "Cheerleader" to become the number one on iTunes, Hollywood Life reported.

Before its release on Monday, the teaser of the song was circulated on social media over the weekend, creating a stir among music lovers and Gomez's fans. The song, featuring A$AP Rocky, has come 23 months after Gomez released her last album "Stars Dance."

The video of the track is yet to be released, teaser for which was tweetedby the singer along with a message "Here's a preview for the official#GoodForYou video, coming VERY soon."

The song is co-written by the rapper Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, E! News reported. Gomez released her first solo album in 2013 and likely to return with her second album this year.

Earlier, it was reported that Gomez's new track is inspired from her recent relationship with the "Baby" hit maker, Justin Bieber. Her vocal coach Stevie Mackey has claimed that although she does not mention the singer directly anywhere in the song, "Good For You" is undoubtedly about her past high-profile romance with the star.
