ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 is welcoming a new doctor. Things are changing at the series after the death of Patrick Dempsey's McDreamy, and this new doc is only the beginning. Meanwhile, for the first time in the series, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) is not paired -- at least not physically -- with anyone.

Martin Henderson is joining the cast of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12. He is believed to be the one to replace Shepherd a.k.a. McDreamy. Despite this update, some fans are still upset about McDreamy's death. They are saying in TV forum sites that it is time to stop watching the series.
Little is known about the new season, but creator Shonda Rhimes has hinted at exploring uncharted territory with Meredith Grey. It is possible that Meredith, now a widow, would stay away from romance for a while. Instead, she and her Person, Karev (Justin Chambers), may have more screen time together.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 is the first season in the show's history to run without Derek Shepherd. In the pilot episode, Derek and Meredith have a one-night stand the night before her first day as intern at Seattle Grace Hospital (now called Grey Sloan Memorial). It begins a complex on and off relationship (spiced up by Kate Walsh's Addison Montgomery) until the two finally get married.
Aside from the big changes in Meredith's life and the arrival of Henderson's character, the avid viewers of the show have little spoilers to chew on for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12. Rhimes and company are not teasing Henderson's role just yet.
