Roselyn Sanchez Walks Out Of Miss USA Event Following Anti-Immigrant Remarks By Donald Trump

After the controversial anti-immigrant statement given by Donald Trump, actress and Latin beauty Roselyn Sanchez has backed out and refused to host the upcoming Miss USA event, scheduled to be held on July 12.

"I was very excited and proud to have been invited to participate in Miss USA, but as a Latina, that is now inconceivable," Hollywood Reporter quoted Sanchez's statement.

Sanchez is joined by her co-host, Chilean actor Cristian de la Fuente, who has also pulled himself out of the telecast. The co-hosts of the beauty pageant are reportedly furious over the incendiary comments regarding Mexican immigrants made by Miss Universe Organization co-owner Trump, during his June 16 speech, in which he also announced his candidacy for the President of U.S.

Trump reportedly accused Mexican immigrants of bringing drug and crime into the country and even called for building a wall on the border between Mexico and U.S.

Sanchez and Fuente are not the only ones to show their anger against the Trump's statement. Prior to them, Columbian reggaeton singer J. Balvin announced that he will not be performing at the event, which was set to be his first mainstream TV performance in the U.S.

Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico, Miss Universe 2006, also announced that she will no longer be participating in the event. The former beauty queen was on the panel of judges at the pageant. Meanwhile, Univision has cancelled the Spanish telecast of the Miss USA pageant to protest Trump's remarks.

NBC, the network which is set to broadcast the beauty pageant's live telecast, also, has distanced itself from the Trump's controversial remarks, saying that they do not agree with his recent comments on immigration, Us Weekly reported.
