With James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" hitting the big screen two years from now, the director has revealed some changes on his upcoming film that make it different from its predecessor.

On June 25, Gunn told Collider during the Saturn Awards event that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will be more "emotional" film, as fans will learn more about fathers. This will stand as the central idea of the upcoming film, which has led Gunn to say that the sequel is both a "bigger" and "smaller" movie.

According to Cinema Blend, Gunn has already proven the "emotional" element in his "Guardians of the Galaxy."

The sorrowful feeling is evident in the opening of Gunn's Marvel film with the young Peter Quill, crying on his dying mother. The fans were also left emotional by the film's path to finale with the humanoid tree, Groot, letting go of himself for the welfare of his friends.

Not much information has been revealed on the film's plot details at this point. Nonetheless, director Gunn has already mentioned that the film will feature the five members of the titular team, along with the comeback of Kraglin, Yondu, and Nebula. Production is anticipated to start next summer, so more information can be revealed soon.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (voice), Vin Diesel (voice), Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and Sean Gunn, among others. It is set to hit the big screen on May 5, 2017.
