Moto 360

When the Apple Watch was released in April, many criticized its overly expensive price ranging from $340 up to $17,000. Additionally, the Apple Watch is only compatible with the iPhone and this leaves Android users unable to use it. However, for those who wants a less expensive alternative, Android Wear has some interesting devices as well.

Here are three less-expensive Android Wear devices that can easily replace the Apple Watch.

Moto 360
Compared to the Apple Watch's square display design, the Moto 360 looks like a classic watch with its round display design. It has several features including a heart rate sensor and a pedometer. It also has ambient light sensor as well as support for wireless charging technology.

The recent Android Wear 5.1.1 update from Google also gave the Moto 360 the much needed Wi-Fi connectivity.  Many critics pointed out the Moto 360's limited battery life which could last for around 10 to 12 hours. However, the Moto 360's $179 price tag makes it a practical alternative for the expensive Apple Watch.

Asus ZenWatch
The Asus ZenWatch has a 1.6-inch AMOLED screen with 320 x 320 resolution. Released in November 2014, the Asus ZenWatch has a Qualcomm 400 processor with Corning Glass 3 which adds toughness and durability to the smartwatch.

Just like the Moto 360, the Asus ZenWatch also received the latest Android Wear 5.1.1 update. The update opened up a lot of enhancement and features to the smartwatch including usable lock screen, wrist gesture and of course Wi-Fi connectivity, according to Tech Times.

The Asus ZenWatch was originally released for $200. According to Android Central, retailer NewEgg is currently offering the smartwatch for a discounted price of $149.

Alcatel OneTouch Watch
The Alcatel OneTouch Watch is the company's first venture into the smartwatch industry. The smartwatch offers all the regular features found on most smart wearable devices like a heart rate monitor, accelerometer and an NFC radio.

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch has a 210 mAh battery. It has a display resolution of 240 x 204 which is rather low compared to other smartwatches in the market.  It also features an auto-brightness mode which automatically adjusts the device's display brightness when the battery is running low.

What is interesting about the Alcatel OneTouch Watch is that it supports both the Android and iPhone platform. The smartwatch only costs $149.
