Contrary to the new rumors that surfaced, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date remains a go this 2015, a new report said. The Windows tablet flagship is said to be lined up for axing since its predecessor, the Surface Pro 3, did not perform to expectations.
Allegedly, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had a review of the company's product portfolio and among those pinpointed for possible dropping is the Surface tablet brand. The sale might have been modest but the figures were not impacting significantly on the Microsoft bottom line.
So the Surface has to go, the rumors said, indicating too that there is no sense refreshing the Surface Pro 3 despite gaining considerable traction in the popularity department. Coming out with the Surface Pro 4, it appears, will not serve the Microsoft business strategy as currently set by Nadella.
It might be that the software giant is better off making big plans instead for the Microsoft Lumia, a brand that the company obtained by paying billions to Nokia.
Thankfully, such big talks are nothing but speculative at the moment as Geek Snack is convinced that all these whispers of the Surface brand biting the dust soon are unfounded, insisting in a report that no information on the matter came "directly from Microsoft."
Further, the blog report is claiming, citing its unnamed sources, that the Surface Pro 4 will roll out as planned. And the Windows slate will likely unbox with the following killer features:
Hybrid capabilities
Compared to the Apple iPad, the Surface Pro 3 following is not so gigantic but the device was successfully marketed by Microsoft as the next best thing to a desktop - powerful but is mobile like a laptop. And the best part is, the Pro 3 is actually a tablet that is optimized for productivity.
All these qualities will be sustained come the Surface Pro 4 release and are further perfected with the advent of Windows 10. "The Surface Pro 4 will take the spot of the best Ultrabook on the market, all the while taking the top spot in the tablet category as well," the Geek Snack report declared.
Biometric security
In the security department, the Pro 4 will likely take a page from Apple and Google by deploying the tablet with biometric security protection. But its sources are yet unsure what the exact implantation is, Geek Snack said.
Will it be a fingerprint reader or an iris that reports said Google will introduce with its Nexus 2015 release date plans? At this point, only Microsoft can answer the question.
Solid pricing
Saving the best for last, Geek Snack's insider is saying that the Surface Pro 4 package will come with an irresistible element - affordable tag price. However, the report did not provide specific numbers though it noted that the offer is likely in conjunction with Microsoft's decision to give the Windows 10 away as free upgrade to PC users running Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 on their machines.
Now the claim that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will have a tempting sticker price seems to make sense as the company has already pronounced one of its ambitions goals. That is to see Windows 10 on more than one billion devices not too long after its 2015 release date, which starts on July 29.
