The British royal couple, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, recently met the "Mr. And Mrs.Smith" co-stars, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt at Kensington Palace.

The meeting was confirmed by Kensington Palace to Us Weekly, which reported that this was the first meeting of the British royal couple with the show business' couple. They reportedly got on splendidly and ended spending a few hours together, much longer than what was planned. The meeting was scheduled after months of coordination between their teams and several security checks.

Jolie and Pitt, who are monikered as Brangelina in media and press, were in London along with their kids to attend Foreign & Commonwealth Office on Monday as part of Jolie's humanitarian work for UK foreign policy and her ongoing campaign to end war zone sexual violence.

On Friday afternoon, U.N. envoy joined the Hollywood couple and headed straight over to Kensington Palace for the informal meeting.  Brangelina, who left their kids behind, was met by the British royal couple, who actually waited outside their apartment 1A home to greet the entourage.

The four celebrities then reportedly talked on length on their common interest of "illegal wildlife trade," while also discussing Jolie's ongoing effort to end sexual violence in war zones.

Brangelina also brought along with them a special gift for the Duke and Duchess to celebrate the arrival of Princess Charlotte, who was born in May. Prince George too got to meet the Hollywood couple outside his apartment when they arrived.

Although Prince William, Pitt, and Jolie attended the 2014 BAFTA awards, they have not met formally until the recent meeting. Earlier, the Brit royal couple had met Hollywood's music honchos Beyonce and Jay Z on their U.S. trip when they bumped into them at Brooklyn Nets basketball game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This was the Jolie's second visit to the royal palace in two years. Back in October 2014, the "Maleficent" star was made an Honorary Dame Commander at a private Buckingham Palace ceremony by Queen Elizabeth II to honor her humanitarian work, People reported.
