Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release date is reportedly pushed back from July to October in order to battle other tablets set to be released later this year.

The first generation of Samsung Galaxy Tab S was announced in June 2014 and was made available to consumers a month after. Whether the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release date will be in July or in October, Samsung hopes to pick up its tablet line and gain profits. However, Samsung kept mum about the launch of the device.

Below are the possible reasons why Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release delayed from July to October.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Tab E Release

Samsung recently released the Galaxy Tab A and Tab E tablets in India and Taiwan, according to Christian Today. The new tablets reportedly aim the mid-range markets. Samsung's entry for the high end market category is still non-existent, which is purported to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

iPad Air 3, iPad Mini 4

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will reportedly battle head on with its longtime rival iPad, which is announced in October. This year, the tablet will take on the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 4. Samsung Galaxy tablets are often compared to iPads.

Holidays

It is almost certain that Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will take advantage of the holiday season in order to gain more profits. Consumers tend to be big spenders during the gift-giving season. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is highly anticipated by buyers who are looking for high quality tablets.

Some of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 rumored features are 8-inch Super AMOLED screen display with 1,536 x 2,048 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the device will reportedly pack an octa-core Exynos SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front-facing shooter.

The line will have two core variants - the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 pertaining to the screen sizes of the tablets. The two models will further have two variants, namely Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus LTE.
