OnePlus Two VR Release

As OnePlus 2 release date is now set for July 27, a leaked screenshot of the alleged OnePlus 2 surfaced online and provided more clues as to what the OnePlus 2 will be offering.

It appears that the new OnePlus 2 will feature an almost no-bezel front design, if the new leaked image as provided by an anonymous tipster to Phone Arena is to be believed. The build is made of metal, and the fingerprint sensor is located under the camera and flash.

As seen in the leaked photo, the OnePlus 2 will feature the latest in fingerprint sensor technology. This has been confirmed by the company in its latest blog post. According to the Chinese smartphone company, the OnePlus 2's fingerprint sensor is allegedly faster than the TouchID featured on Apple devices as the former's fingerprint sensor is reported to be the most advanced to date.

The company also explained that one of the reasons why the original OnePlus smartphone did not come with the said feature is that the manufacturer waited for the feature to be at its most optimal and functional performance.

"With the OnePlus 2, the fingerprint sensor is done right. It's refined and lightning quick, unlocking your device faster than TouchID," said OnePlus via its official website.

How the new fingerprint sensor will work on the OnePlus 2 is through a quick tap that will immediately take the user to the homescreen. The new fingerprint sensor can also store up to five fingerprint profiles, making the new feature more secure.

Other specs that have already been confirmed to arrive with the OnePlus 2 are Snapdragon 810 v2.1, the new Type-C USB port and an octa-core CPU. More details and the actual handset are expected to be revealed later this month.
