Android 5.1 Lollipop Update Now Beginning To Roll Out To Samsung Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge

Android 5.1 Lollipop update is now beginning to roll out to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 on Sprint. The update, which is available as an over-the-air update, includes enhanced features, factory reset protection and UI enhancements.

The mobile carrier Sprint has announced that its Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is now available for download. The over-the-air update is about 563 MB.

Also, users can manually update by going into Settings > About Phone > System Update > to force their smartphones to check for the Android 5.1 update and download it.

According to Sprint, the updates will be rolled to the owners of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in stages. It can take many days for all the Sprint consumers of both the devices to get the Android update.

RAW photography is one of the important features that the Android 5.1 brings for Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 smartphones. The default camera present on the both the handsets is still not able to support RAW photography. However, owners can shoot RAW photos in DNG format by using a third-party camera app.

Recently, the mobile carriers U.S. Cellular and T-Mobile rolled out an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop over-the-air update, which is the newest version of Android available, to the Samsung Galaxy S6 duos on its network.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have become very famous with customers due to the company's  change in design aesthetics in its current smartphones.
