‘Mega Man’ Creator Starts Kickstarter Campaign For Action Game, Anime Movie Combo

Mighty No. 9 developer Comcept announces that the game's demo will be delayed.

Keiji Inafune, producer of the upcoming action video game Mighty No. 9, and Mega Man creator, has launched the new project Red Ash that is seeking crowdfunding via a Kickstarter campaign. It will combine the open world action game "The Incredible Legend" and the anime movie "Magicada."

Mighty No. 9 is a 2D action platform game that has a similar style as Mega Man, according to NZ Gamer. On the other hand, Red Ash is a 3D title in the action-adventure genre that is being developed by Inafune's studio Comcept.

The Red Ash campaign page states that the main goal of the game is to tell a story on a grand scale. It follows the treasure hunters Beck, Call, and Tyger  as they wander through KalKanon, a mobile fortress. Comcept wants to raise $800,000 for the game's development.

Although the video game and movie will include some familiar components such as a treasure hunting theme and known characters taking place in a robot apocalypse, they will be set in "parallel words." The producers can write the stories.

There are several pledge options that allow online contributors to influence either of the new projects directly.  This resembles Mighty No. 9,

Online investors can get a PC digital copy of the game for a pledge of at least $25. The movie's price tag is a $24 minimum pledge, according to NewsOK.

If they chip in $499 or more they can make contributions such as inventing achievements and naming objects. A $9,999 contribution will earn a dinner with Inafune.

Studio4ºC, the movie company producing the anime film, will even accept fresh new ideas at no-charge. Concepts used in the animated movie will earn a small reward.

The Mega Man franchise, named Rockman in Japan, was launched in 1987. It includes over 50 games on various gaming systems, and has sold over 30 million units worldwide.
