The Google Nexus 2015 release date might still be a few months away from actually happening but signs are coming out lately that suggest the otherwise - that the vanilla Android flagship phone unboxing this year could happen sooner than expected.

One of the signs came from Google when the company formally introduced Android M in late May via its annual I/O Developers Conference. As the case in previous years, the tech giant precedes the arrival of its hero smartphone with the introduction of the new operating system that will bring the device into life. The OS is expected to rollout anytime in October.

But really the one solid indicator from the company that preparations are now underway for the Nexus 2015 unboxing is the massive discounts that await Nexus 6 buyers over at the Google Play Store. Fans can save as much as $200 should they decide to grab the 64GB Motorola-made Nexus 6 directly from Google.

The deal from Google is sweeter than that from Motorola, which recently sliced $150 off the Nexus 6, at least for American buyers. But the flurry of 2014 Nexus discounts are not for select buyers only as Android fans in India can also get hold of the pure Android device with significant price slash.

Somehow, the lowering of the Nexus 6 sticker price provides hints that Google and its retail partners are clearing out stocks of the device and likely gearing up for the arrival of its replacement. They are making room for the Nexus 2015, so to speak.

That being the case, somebody has to build the handset and according to Android Pit that somebody is no other than LG. This brings us to the second sign that the next Nexus flagship could be unwrapped real soon.

Without naming its source, Android Pit claimed in a report that Google thought it wise to bring back LG to the Nexus fold after trying out Motorola in 2014. The decision seems to makes sense as the South Korean device maker previously handled the Nexus 4 and 5 and the company proved worthy of Google's trust.

But what really excites about this latest development is it projects the notion that the Nexus 2015 project is moving forward with relative speed and the completion plus the subsequent rollout could take place anytime soon.

And that could only mean that the Google Nexus 2015 release date, with Android M in tow, is imminent, could even happen ahead of the expected schedule, which for many fans is around October or November this year.
