Google is set to release the successor of its 2013 flagship device Nexus 5, soon. Google Nexus 5 2015, also known as Nexus 5 second generation is one of the most awaited handsets of this year.

The 2015 sequel is expected to be released with some feature upgrades marking the return of the Nexus 5. The rumours indicate that the phone will sport latest Android operating system and a change in its screen size. It is also expected to come with improved battery life.

The Nexus 5 2015 will boast a stock Android M the sequel to Android 5.0 Lolipop that is found in Nexus 5 2013, according to UK Marketing News. It is noted the phone will host the actual Android software unlike other devices that will feature the customized UI. The users will be first to receive any updates. It will also enhance the speed and the performance of the device in comparison to other Android-based devices.

The Nexus 5 2015 will be slightly bigger yet handy as compared to its predecessor. The 2013 version was 4.95 inch in size. Based on all the rumours swirling around, it can be said that the second generation phone will feature 5.2 inch screen size.

The second generation Nexus is expected to have enhanced battery life and ensure faster charging. The aforementioned website speculates that the new device will house Qualcomm-based Quick Charge 2.0 along with Android M's Doze feature that optimizes battery life. The phone is expected to be released with wireless charging feature.

According to Geek Snack, Nexus 5 (2015) will feature fingerprint sensor, Google wallet and high resolution display, among other features. Users can expect an upgrade for the camera as well. The previous version came with 8 MP camera. And the upcoming version is expected to boast 13 MP camera. Among other specifications, the phone is expected to house Snapdragon 808 and the recently introduced USB Type C.

It must be noted that the authorities are yet to reveal the specifications of the second generation (2015) Nexus 5.

Meanwhile, the media outlet claims that the updated version will be made available at an affordable price, below $500. As for the release date, Tech Times states that Nexus 5 2015 may come out in August or late July when the Google releases the third preview of Android M.
