It's clearing time for Samsung as the company offers significant rebate for buyers of its current phablet flagship, the Galaxy Note 4. The move likely suggests too that the Galaxy Note 5 release date is happening sooner than expected.

And the signs pointing to this much-awaited event abound, according to Techno Buffalo. The more recent is the leaked schematic of the Note 5, which came out early this week, that indicated the device is practically the supersized version of the Galaxy S6, copying the latter's build and design.

That means that the Note 5 will be made of metal and glass but the profile will be at 5.7-inch. And the design is as gorgeous as what has been seen with the Galaxy S6, indicating too that the next-gen Samsung phablet is will not be patterned after the previous Galaxy Note models.

Now as the Note 5 pieces of jigsaw puzzle fall into place, providing hints on the device's likely look, specs and features, the question begs: When is it coming out?

Samsung could be giving out clues and one of which is its decision to return a part of the cash that Note 4 buyers will shell out to take home the large-screen smartphone. According to Business Insider, the Korean tech giant is willing to give back $200 to U.S. buyers of the 2014 phablet.

The promo requires that the purchase be made via Samsung's retail partners and the device should not be subject of telco subsidy, meaning there has to be no contract involve. The deal is juicy enough as Business Insider noted that despite the chatter that the Note 4 is on its way out and the Galaxy Note 5 could land anytime soon, the former remains as one of the most expensive high-end Android smartphone.

Yet it is a worthy buy that AT&T still sells the phone starting at $845 while Verizon places a sticker price on the device at $700 flat. With the discount in effect, the Note 4 is now up for grabs for only $645 from AT&T and $500 from Verizon.

Irresistible as the Samsung offering is, Business Insider is reminding that the deal runs on a limited time frame - from July 7 through 26. So phablet lovers need to make their decision quick in snapping up what Business Insider described as "one of the best Android phones in the world.

Or Samsung fans can wait if they believe in the assumption that this promo also means that the Galaxy maker is trying to clear out its remaining inventory of the Note 4 and still make cash in the process. The company is rushing to push out Note 4 stocks in order to make room for its replacement - the Galaxy Note 5.

The Galaxy Note 5 release date is not expected until a few weeks after the 2015 IFA trade show in Berlin, normally held in the German city at start of September each year. But with the latest move by Samsung, it might be that the Note 5 unpacking this year will happen a little earlier.
