Google Nexus 5 2015 release may come soon as new HTC Nexus 9 discounts emerged online and Google rolled out Android M Developer Preview 2.
In Amazon UK, 16GB HTC Nexus 9 is now offered for £254.99 from its original price of £319. Motorola also offers Nexus 6 discounts the 32 GB and 64 GB variants for $479 and $529, respectively. A decrease in price is a clear indication that a new Nexus device is coming out soon.
Meanwhile, Google just updated the Developer Preview of the latest Android M operating system. The second version of the preview is compatible to Nexus 5, Nexus 6, or Nexus 9 devices. Users interested to try out the new Android OS may download it via Over-The-Air update.
According to Tech Crunch, the second version of the Developer Preview brings forth bug fixes and stability upgrades. Moreover, it packs API tweaks and additions. The following are some of the additions in the Android M Developer Preview 2:
Better App Permissions System: Upon installing and updating apps, they will seek permissions when they need, instead of having a long dialog box all at once. This will help users to better understand what they are agreeing to.
Android Pay: One of the new features included in the new operating system is a mobile payment system. While Google has Google Wallet, Android Pay is now at OS level, which is more appropriate since the company is working closely with carriers this time.
Doze: This is the improved power-saving logic for apps that try to sync when your device is asleep.
USB Type C Support: Since the use of reversible USB Type C support is on the rise. The OS updates its support to the said feature.
