The various legal battles between technology giants Apple and Samsung are still ongoing across different continents. The two rivals for supremacy in the tablet and smartphone markets will face each other again in September at Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) Berlin.

Seoul-based Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Note 5 at the international trade show. The device is speculated to have a wider screen of 5.9 inches from its predecessor's 5.7 inches, market watchers hinted on Monday, reports Koreaobserver.

However, some think Samsung would retain the 5.7-inch screen found on the Galaxy Note 4 that the firm launched at IFA Berlin in 2014.

They also expect Samsung to showcase a phablet with curved display on both ends similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge. Their anticipation followed a ruling by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that granted Samsung earlier this month the trademark for the S6 EDGE+. Also granted to Samsung was a trademark for an S pen that detaches by voice or gestures, which Samsung fans also point out is a key feature of phablets from the Asian tech giant.

On the other hand, Apple is expected to fight the wider-screen battle with its iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus that it will likely roll out after IFA. This would kindle again the fiery battle between Seoul and Cupertino for a bigger cut of the highly valued high-end smartphone pie.

Although the two Apple phones would likely have the same physical features as the current iPhone 6s, the new ones would have better specs. These include the "Force Touch" already found on the Apple Watch released in April that activates applications or settings with a press on the display instead of a swipe. To avoid a repeat of the Bendgate incident, the new devices are expected to have stronger cases.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is also expected to unveil new Windows 10 devices on September 4 at the IFA 2015 keynote. To deliver the keynote address is Nick Parker, corporate vice president OEM Division of Microsoft.

Ubergizmo confirmed the new devices from Microsoft include tables, 2-in1s, premium notebooks, gaming devices and all-in-ones expected to improve user Windows 10 experience.
