Microsoft Executive Vice President of Windows and Devices Group Terry Myerson recently scrapped all the rumors claiming that Microsoft will not release a Windows Lumia phone in 2015.

During a speech for Microsoft World Partner Conference Keynote, Myerson said, "Last week, we announced a focusing on our Lumia lineup, but let me be clear: soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10."

According to Win Beta, Myerson's statement is a reference to a Lumia flagship smartphone for the upcoming Windows 10 operating system which is due to be launched in July 29. There are also speculations that Microsoft will unveil the Lumia smartphone at the IFA trade show in Berlin which will kick off in September.

Additionally, Microsoft has already publicized its plan for a Windows 10 press event at the IFA Berlin on Sept. 4.

Myerson's statement has stirred a lot of rumor about the upcoming Lumia Windows phone with some claiming that it will be the successor of the Lumia 930. Myerson may be refering to the rumored Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL when he said "premium new Lumias."

According to GSM Arena, the Microsoft Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL has been subject to several rumors and leaked images in the past. The most recent rumor claims that it will cost more than the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.

The rumored Lumia 940 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and a 5.2-inch full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The smartphone will have 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. The device will have a 20-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both with iris scanning technology.

On the other hand, the Lumia 940 XL will be powered by a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and will sport a larger 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440.
