Microsoft is likely pushing ahead with its Surface Pro 4 release date plans as a new report indicates that the tech giant is expanding on its tablet business that "points to strong future for the product line."

Microsoft may not be discussing the rumored Surface Pro 4 but the Surface brand is being connected by the company with momentum and opportunities. Expansion plans await the brand, Windows blogger Paul Thurrott said in a new post.

It is safe to say that right after the Windows 10 July 29 rollout, the Surface product line will be more visible in markets around the world. "Microsoft will increase the number of partners that can sell Surface from a couple hundred to a few thousand partners globally in the coming months," Thurrott quoted a Microsoft official as saying.

The move is prompted by the company's belief that the Surface tablet and Surface Hub, Microsoft's all-in-one personal computer, are gaining significant traction among targeted consumers. Such momentum will build up further in the aftermath of the Windows 10 release date, the report added.

With Microsoft plotting its future strategies for the Surface brand, killing it doesn't make sense. It follows then a follow up to the Surface Pro 3 is coming but the Thurrott report said that launch details for the Surface Pro 4 remain elusive at this time.

But it is comforting to know that Pro 4 remains likely a go though Thurrott noted that assuming the tablet is already in the works is another thing. As the blogger said in his earlier posts, Microsoft is not saying anything about the tablet, which he added is unusual if indeed the product is programmed to come out in the coming months.

He added, however, that keeping mum on the subject doesn't mean that the Surface Pro 4 is not up for unboxing. The latest news indicates that the Windows 10 tab or a version of it is arriving but no one knows when and how exactly.

It could be that the unboxing will have to wait until 2016 but Thurrott was reported as saying that Windows fans can instead reconsider the Surface Pro 3. The tablet added new configurations and options and Thurrott insists that with Windows 10 powering the device, it is the next best thing while waiting for the successor.

And that successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, will likely not get a release date schedule until the second half of 2016. That will be the case if the reports will prove correct that Microsoft is waiting for Samsung's delivery of high-end components for the flagship tablet.
