After appearing in the TV series "Switched At Birth" in 2014, Nyle DiMarco, 25, is set to appear on TV again as one of the 14 contestants of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 22, which will premiere on Aug. 5.
As a deaf actor, DiMarco was one of those who joined the #DeafTalent movement earlier this year. The movement started after hearing "Medeas" actress Catalina Sandina Moreno's interview with New York Daily News raised red flags in the Deaf community.
Being a deaf actor makes DiMarco one of the most notable contestants of "ANTM" cycle 22. Also, the modelling competition created by Tyra Banks once again disregarded the height requirement with the tallest female model coming in at 5'9.5″ with the shortest at just 5'3″.
In particular, DiMarco appeared in "Switched At Birth" season 3 episode 18 titled "It Isn't What You Think," which aired on July 28, 2014. The deaf actor played a character named Garrett. In the episode, Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) lashed out at Regina Vasquez (Constance Marie) while Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano) tried to mend her friendship with Tank also known as Miles Conroy (Max Adler).
On Jan. 6, "Switched At Birth" season 4 premiered with an episode titled "And It Cannot Be Changed." The fourth season ended on March 10 with an episode titled "There Is My Heart,' in which Bay Kennish paid a surprise visit to Emmett (Sean Berdy) which Daphne Vasquez was troubled by her performance in school.
"Switched At Birth" season 5 is set to premiere on Aug. 24 with an episode titled "To Repel Ghosts." The upcoming season is reportedly featuring problems between Kathryn Kennish (Lea Thompson) and John Kennish (D.W. Moffett), Vine Report has learned.
