'Gangnam Style' Star Psy In Action

"Gangnam Style" hit maker Psy is reported to be involved in a car accident on July 16 in Hangzhou, east China.

Recent reports stated that the Korean pop star was on his way from the airport to the hotel at 3 p.m., when his Rolls Royce hit a bus from the behind, Fox News reported. The accident happened in the city's main crossing.

No one was reported to be injured in the crash, though, the front bumper of the red-colored luxury car fell-off due to the impact. The pop star was immediately picked up by a police Porsche that was clearing the road for his Rolls Royce to securely pass before the accident. The 38-year-old was accompanied by his manager and a local employee.

The singer has reportedly reached a settlement for compensation and repairs with the party involved. While the damage for the bus was pegged at $300, the damage to Psy's Rolls-Royce is estimated at around $112,000.

Psy was in Hangzhou for one day for the inauguration party of a bar, before heading to Beijing on July 17. It is still not clear who was driving the car at the time of the accident. However, the singer's management later released a statement to the Korean Herald stating that Psy is absolutely safe and was not injured in the crash.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, rose to popularity in 2012, when a track of his sixth album, "Psy 6," started gaining popularity outside Asia. "Gangnam Stye" eventually became a worldwide hit, knocking Justin Bieber's "Baby" off the top of the YouTube viewing list. The track became the first video to reach one billion mark in YouTube and still stands unbeatable at the top slot.
