South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai recently released a revamped model of its highly successful compact SUV dubbed the 2016 Hyundai Tucson.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is expected to be released on the market within this month, according to Detroit Free Press. Based on the specs sheet released by Hyundai, the 2016 Tucson has a wide array of appealing feature that will no doubt help it claim the top spot as one of the best compact SUV in the market.
In terms of engine variant, the 2016 Tucson will be released in two models; a 2.0-liter four cylinder 164-horsepower engine with six-speed automatic transmission and a 1.6-liter four cylinder 175-horsepower turbocharged engine with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
According to Extreme Tech, gas mileage for the 1.6-liter engine is recorded at 25mpg on city, 29mpg on highway and 27mph overall. The Tucson's Eco engine has gas mileage of 26mpg on city, 33 mpg on highway and 27mpg combined.
The 2016 Tucson's exterior design is reminiscent of the design of the larger Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. The 2016 Tucson is 3 inches longer that its predecessor and 8.5 inches shorter than the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport.
Compared to its closest competitors, the 2016 Tucson is shorter but a bit wider than the Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV. It also has more passenger space, albeit a smaller cargo hold compared to the CRV and Escape.
The 2016 Hyundai Tucson will fetch a price tag of around $22,700 up to $32,050. Hyundai also said that the company is aiming to sell at least 90,000 Tucson's on an annual basis, that figure is double compared to the target set for the previous model of the Tucson.
