‘Mortal Kombat X’ Kombat Pack 2 In the Works?

| Jul 23, 2015 01:35 PM EDT

"Mortal Kombat X" is likely to receive the Pit stage DLC as a part of this week's big news

Following the Tremor DLC pack release earlier this week, developer NetherRealm is reportedly gearing up the next Kombat Pack for the "Mortal Kombat X."

NetherRealm showed off the final fighter among the four earlier announced characters - Tremor on July 21, Tuesday. The developer referenced the pack as "Kombat Pack 1," at the end of the live stream, suggesting that "Kombat Pack 2," is in the works, IGN reported.

This is not the first instance that the possibility of a "Kombat Pack 2" is speculated, as "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boon has previously tweeted about "Meat" joining the roster... "#IfThereIsAKombatPack2."

Even earlier last month, Boon teased the possibility of Rain joining the "MKX," that lend weight to rumors of the next "Kombat Pack." Rumor has it that the "Kombat Pack 2" like its predecessor, will also have four fighters including Rain and Meat, but it is not yet confirmed.

Recently a modder revealed a way to make several non-playable characters including Rain, Sindel and Baraka, playable in the story mode.

Back in April, Boon also teased fans about a possible story add-on, which led to speculations of new story content to come with another season pass. Though, more than a new story content, he has always teased fans about more fighters to join the roster soon, VG24/7 reported.

Nevertheless, NetherRealm is yet to officially comment on these rumors about the "Kombat Pack 2."

It seems like NetherRealm is having its plate full as the developer is reportedly working on “Mortal Kombat X” version for the last generation consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The said version has been delayed more than once and is still to receive a concrete release date.
