‘Uncharted 4’ Dev Talks Lack of Multiplayer, Demo Screens Display Detailed Gameplay

"Uncharted 4: The Nathan Drake Collection" will feature a number of unlockable skills and a new hardcore setting.

Keeping the multiplayer for the "Uncharted 4: The Nathan Drake Collection" solely with the beta access for the most recent installment may be Naughty Dog's way of letting "Uncharted" fans have their cake and eat it, too. The developer revealed that one of the reasons for why the team decided to keep the multiplayer for the previous installment of the titles out of the collection was the strong fan base.

Eric Monacelli, community strategist for Naughty Dog, shared to Mashable that the old titles for "Uncharted" still received strong support from its fans, especially the multiplayer aspect.

"People are still playing 'Uncharted 2' [online], believe it or not. It's a pretty old game but people love it," said Monacelli to Mashable.

This is one of the reasons why Naughty Dog opted to avoid incorporating the multiplayer in its upcoming "The Nathan Drake Collection." One way to solve the issue for players who want multiplayer in the new collection is through the multiplayer beta access that will be offered for PS4 players.

More than a remastering of past titles, the "Uncharted 4: The Nathan Drake Collection" will also have unlockable skins and a super hardcore setting. Still, the aim of the studio is to ensure that the original title stays true to its essence, while also attracting both new and long-time fans of the franchise to experience Nathan Drake's story in a new light.

To further the hype for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," PlayStation Universe managed to get a couple of high-res screenshots from the gameplay demo. Seen in the link above, the images show the amount of detail included even in gameplay sequences. In particular, the last three screenshots show off action sequences wherein Nathan Drake is running around town during the proverbial E3 2015 trailer.
