West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino

Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur FC is planning to offer a £15-million transfer proposal to fellow English club West Bromwich Albion FC for the services of their striker Saido Berahino, as per Metro.

The 21-year-old England international had long been the apple of Mauricio Pochettino's eyes as the 43-year-old Argentine manager is reportedly keen in pairing him with the Spurs' resident striker Harry Kane.

The Lilywhites other forwards, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Saldado, are currently not performing up to par and Pochettino's patience is allegedly being tested with every game the team plays.

White Hart Lane representatives had been scouting Berahino since last season while he was on loan at Peterborough United and the team will now try to lure him out of the Hawthorns this summer.

Berahino had been on loan to different teams such as Northampton Town and Brentford since 2011 and there are no indications that the Baggies are actually going to use him in their senior lineup. Still, Albion manager Tony Pulis insisted that the Bujumbura native is not for sale.

Daily Mail Online reported that Pulis offered Berahino to double his salary just to stay with the Throstles. Presently, he is earning around £15,000 weekly and the management is reportedly willing to make it £30,000 per week if he chooses to stay.

There are still no reports with regards to Berahino's intentions, but the rumors of a West Brom takeover is expected to make the transfer complicated if ever.

News have arisen that a big Chinese conglomerate is offering to buy out the whole franchise although no timetable was set on when and how it is going to take place. The speculations were like a dark cloud hovering over the West Midlands team and so any potential transaction would be uncertain.
